When the Path No Longer Fits

What if the roadblock is not stopping you... but redirecting you?

Hola Fierce Friend,

I have been thinking a lot lately about how quickly we try to push through discomfort.

How often we assume that if something feels hard, the answer must be to work harder.

But sometimes life asks us to pause instead.

Last year, my family and I were preparing for a camping trip to the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado.

The car was packed.
The plans were made.
Everything was ready.

Then the weather shifted.

Strong winds.
Campfire restrictions.
Conditions that suddenly made the entire trip feel more exhausting than exciting.

We had hit a roadblock.

So instead of forcing the original plan, we changed direction.

So instead of forcing the original plan, we changed direction.

We headed south toward New Mexico and found ourselves surrounded by winding rivers, towering cliffs, and skies painted in shades of ruby red and burnt orange.

What started as frustration became awe.

And standing there in the middle of the mountains, I had this thought:

Not every roadblock is meant to be overcome.

Some are meant to redirect us somewhere better.

I see this happen so often with women who are used to
holding everything together.

When the path stops working, the instinct is usually to push harder.

To adjust the plan.
To make it work.
To keep going no matter what.

But sometimes the resistance is not failure.

Sometimes it is wisdom.

Sometimes your mind and body are trying to tell you something before burnout forces you to listen.

I wrote more about this, what it means to “tune in,” and how mental roadblocks can actually become invitations toward a different direction.

If you have been feeling frustrated, emotionally stuck, or like something in your life no longer fits the way it once did, I think this will resonate with you. Click the link below to read the full article.

Sometimes the detour becomes the journey.
And sometimes the path we never planned becomes the one that changes us the most.

If this resonated with you, I would love to hear from you.

Just hit reply and tell me:

Has there ever been a moment in your life where a setback redirected you somewhere unexpectedly beautiful?

P.S. If you know a woman who feels like she is constantly pushing through life instead of truly experiencing it, forward this to her.

We are redefining what strength looks like.
