The Day I Turned My Phone Off
I didn’t expect what happened when everything got quiet...
Hola Fierce Friend,
I didn’t realize how disconnected I had become… until I tried to disconnect on purpose.
Last week, I turned my phone off for an entire day.
Not airplane mode.
Not “I’ll just check one thing.”
Completely off.
And if I’m being honest… it felt uncomfortable at first.
I kept reaching for it without thinking.
Like my body expected it to be there.
That’s when it hit me.
👉 This wasn’t just a habit. It was automatic.
As the day went on, something started to shift.
I slowed down.
I found myself sitting longer, listening more, actually being present with my family instead of halfway there.
Nothing about the day was extraordinary.
But somehow… it felt different.
Lighter.
Quieter.
More real.
Here’s what surprised me the most
When I turned my phone back on the next morning…
I felt it immediately.
The noise.
The tension.
The pull.
And I had this thought:
👉 This is what I’ve been living in every day.
I think a lot of us believe we’re overwhelmed because we’re doing too much.
But what if it’s not just what we’re doing…
What if it’s the constant input we never step away from?
The notifications.
The messages.
The expectations.
All of it quietly keeping our nervous system activated.
I wrote more about this experience
What’s actually happening in your brain and body, and why stepping away even briefly can change how you feel in your day to day life.

Sometimes it’s not that we need to do more.
Sometimes… we just need space to hear ourselves again.
If this resonates with you, just hit reply and tell me:
When was the last time you felt fully present?

P.S. If you know a woman who feels like she’s constantly “on”… forward this to her.
She might not realize how much she needs it.
